The Fulong Sand Sculpture Festival kicks off, with a stunning 3D tropical paradise stealing the spotlight

Sand sculpture is an art form that uses the most natural materials to create wonders. Although these works cannot be preserved forever and must withstand the effects of weather, they are always full of new creative ideas. Over the past two years, the sand sculpture festival has boosted the development of tourism and inspired creativity, while also deepening collaboration among private enterprises. This year, with strong support from “China Airlines,” “Lihpao Group,” and “King Car Group,” the event has become even more spectacular and is starting to attract international attention. Both the number of visitors and the scale of the sculptures have set new records for consecutive years. For example, the 3D “Tropical Tiki Paradise” created by a U.S. team this year is the largest sand sculpture in Taiwan’s history. Coupled with joint creations by Japanese and Taiwanese teams, an astonishing “world of imagination” has been brought to life. Visitors to Fulong can also explore nearby recreational spots, making it a perfect destination for family outings.

To experience the charm of the “Sand Sculpture Playground,” many people arrived early in the morning, getting ready to enter the park before 7 a.m., while families even brought their own shovels and small buckets to show off their sand-sculpting skills in the DIY area. The “Fulong Sand Sculpture Art Festival” runs from now until June 27. On Saturdays and Sundays during the event, fun games like “Breaking the Sand Pot” and “Golden Sand Bingo” will be held. There is also a “Sand Sculpture DIY Teaching Zone,” where Taiwanese artists teach the public sand-sculpting tips so everyone can enjoy hands-on fun with “sand.”

The “Sand Sculpture Creation Competition,” held for the first time this year, will hold its finals on Fulong Beach from June 5 to 6. Twelve to twenty teams will be creating their works on-site, and the public is welcome to come and watch. During the sand sculpture festival, the scenic area administration encourages visitors to take the train or other forms of public transport.
