Volunteer on Alishan and experience tea-picking fun

Due to climate change, the harvesting schedule for MaNa’s crops has been disrupted, affecting the timing of seasonal workers in the mountains. Now, tea-picking volunteers are urgently needed to harvest summer tea and preserve its original flavor. To give volunteers a memorable tea-picking experience, Story of Wine will host a wine tasting under the stars at an altitude of 2,000 meters. The event will take place at “Ajia’s Homestay,” just a five-minute walk from the tea plantation. The food is sourced from organic farms in Alishan, featuring the homestay owner’s signature grilled black pork, paired with organic wines carefully selected by Story of Wine.

The MaNa Alishan Organic Tea-Picking Volunteer Program will take place on June 12–13. The main tasks involve picking tea leaves and removing stems, with payment of NT$60 per jin (which can be used as credit toward purchasing MaNa organic products). The cost for two days and one night, including accommodation and meals, is NT$1,500. After enjoying the grilled black pork and organic wine, the homestay owner Ajia will also lead everyone to a secret spot to see fireflies. For those who still can’t sleep at night, you can enjoy a cup of Alishan organic coffee at Ajia’s newly built “23 Café,” or gather around the fireplace for some organic tea, soaking in the tranquil beauty of Alishan.

Volunteers who join the tea-picking program can share their experience of the organic tea-picking fun on their blogs and post the blog link on the Story of Wine Facebook wall. Before August 30, the top three entries with the highest number of views will each receive a bottle of Story of Wine.
