Located in the Andaman Sea in southern Thailand, Phuket Island is a world-renowned tropical tourist destination. Its crystal-clear waters and sunny climate attract numerous visitors for vacation adventures every year. In fact, the island holds even more beautiful hidden gems waiting to be discovered—this time, we’re revealing Phuket’s 6 “secret beaches”!

1. Ao Sane Beach
This bay features three mini beaches, granite boulders, rugged sands, and excellent snorkeling spots. Ao Sane is a truly charming place, especially with the shade provided by tropical almond tree leaves, making it a delightful spot to relax. From November to May, there’s also a yacht docking area where you can enjoy a unique yachting experience.

* How to get there: Head to the Royal Phuket Yacht Club at the northern end of Nai Harn Beach. Continue along the hotel road and you’ll find clear signs for the beach.

2. Yong Bay Beach
A classic tropical beach with a few palm trees, white sands, and shallow waters, it’s also home to oyster rafts a few hundred meters offshore. The bay faces south and is a popular picnic spot for locals on weekends, though it remains peaceful and scenic on weekdays.

* How to get there: Located between Cape Panwa and Novotel Cape Panwa; park on the hillside road and walk down to the beach.

3. Banana Beach
This beach isn’t easily accessible, but it’s absolutely worth the effort. A trail through a lush area leads you there, and on a clear day, Banana Beach offers unrivaled tranquility and beauty—though swimming is not recommended from May to November.

* How to get there: Head south from Nai Thon Beach, pass the Andaman White Beach Resort, then make a few turns. Look for a wobbly sign.

4. Nui Beach (Entrance fee: 350 THB, free for children under 12)
Nui Beach is one of Phuket’s most beautiful “secret beaches,” featuring a 120-meter stretch of sandy shore. Nearby bars and restaurants offer a variety of activities, including snorkeling, beach volleyball, sea kayaking, jet surfing, donut boating, massages, saunas, and even scuba diving. Entry to Nui Beach costs 350 THB (500 THB includes shuttle service), making this enchanting beach a worthwhile splurge for an island getaway.

* How to get there: Take the side road near the viewpoint on the mountain road between Nai Harn and Kata, go down past Reggae Bar, and park near the stairs leading to the restaurant.

5. Kaokard Beach (also known as Cape Panwa Beach)
Cape Panwa Beach is a haven for those who love peace and quiet. It lies 8 km east of Phuket and encompasses the western coast around Cape Panwa. The beach has coarse sand and shallow water, but the views of Chalong Bay and nearby islands are stunning. The beach is lined mostly with luxury villas and apartments, interspersed with small fishing huts, and features a mangrove swamp at its far western end.

* How to get there: From Kamares Beach, head south toward Cape Sienna and the Paresa Resort, and look for two concrete pillars and a concrete path leading down to the beach.

6. Ya Nui Beach
This 200-meter-long beach is located 5 km north of Patong Beach, offering a secluded, peaceful atmosphere. Though it’s not ideal for swimming, it’s a fantastic spot to watch the sunset. Perfect for travelers seeking a laid-back holiday, it’s great for leisurely strolls in the evening sun.

* How to get there: From Patong Beach, head north, pass Thavorn Beach Village & Spa, then take the left up a steep hill road. Drive about 1 km until you reach a dirt path that leads down to the beach.
