Beef lovers are in for a treat — after a 14-year hiatus, the first shipment of Japanese beef exported to Taiwan comes from Miyazaki Prefecture’s renowned Miyazaki beef, slated to arrive on September 28. This batch is being introduced by the Kanpai Group, which aims to deliver it to customers as quickly as possible, whether through its own restaurants or its B2B retail arm, Kanpai Foods.
Miyazaki Prefecture held a “Beef Export Ceremony” at 14:00 on the afternoon of the 27th, with Vice Governor of Miyazaki Prefecture, Kuraji Yukitoshi, personally attending the event, symbolizing the official first export of Miyazaki beef to Taiwan. Vice Governor Kuraji Yukitoshi stated that today marks the first shipment of Miyazaki beef to Taiwan in 14 years, and he hopes the people of Taiwan will enjoy the delicious taste of Miyazaki beef.

Miyazaki beef has won the top prize at the “All-Japan Wagyu Olympics” — the National Competitive Exhibition of Wagyu — for three consecutive sessions, earning its reputation as Japan’s No. 1 wagyu. Dubbed the “Olympics of wagyu,” the National Competitive Exhibition of Wagyu is held once every five years, with over 30 production regions and at least 400 cattle competing each time. Miyazaki beef claimed the championship in 2007, 2012, and 2017, achieving an impressive three-peat and earning the prestigious title of “Japan’s Finest Wagyu.”
