Exciting every week, with both entertainment and activities — the Miaoli Ocean Tourism Season
This year’s Miaoli Ocean Tourism Season, themed “Embrace Miaoli, Celebrate a Joyful Summer,” kicked off at the Tongxiao Ocean Resort, launching four weeks of exciting events. Starting from July 24th, every weekend will feature different evening shows and concerts in four rotating townships, including fireworks displays, dance competitions, seafood tastings, and performances by singers — offering the public a feast for the ears, taste buds, and eyes.

On July 31st, events were held at Yuanli Township’s Yuan Harbor Fishing Port, featuring the semi-finals of the Ocean Star Dance Competition and band performances at 5:00 PM, followed by live shows by artists Show Lo, Yoga Lin, Yang Pei-An, and Chung Yi-Chin at 7:30 PM. On August 7th, the venue moved to Houlong Township’s Waipu Fishing Port, with activities such as fish fry release, clam digging, a sketching competition, and the finals of the Ocean Star Dance Competition. The evening gala at 7:00 PM, hosted by Hsiao Hsien, featured romantic atmosphere enhancers like a water dance and the lighting of the Magpie Bridge. There were also performances by top artists including Yeh Wei-Ting, Angela Chang, Show Luo, Cherry Boom, and A-Lin, with a spectacular fireworks show that made the fishing port even more beautiful at night.

On August 14th, at Zhuolang Township’s Dragon-Phoenix Fishing Port, there were fun quiz sessions with prizes and energetic dance performances in the afternoon, followed by performances by Liang Wen-Yin, J.C. Chang, Chung Yi-Chin, Lee Chieh-Yu, and Sun Tzu-You at 7:00 PM. On August 8th and 15th at 5:00 PM, music events were held on the wooden boardwalk at Houlong Township’s Waipu Fishing Port and on the cross-harbor bridge at Zhuolang Township’s Dragon-Phoenix Fishing Port, featuring performances by popular bands. During the events, there were also “Sea Taste” tastings, where the county government offered free fish ball soup, zongzi, rice noodles, taro cakes, oden, and rice vermicelli, allowing both adults and children to savor Miaoli’s delicious flavors and adding vibrancy to the Miaoli Ocean Tourism Season.
