Hidden in the alleys of Anping, this small dessert shop looks no different from a residence from the outside. But once you push the door open, the princess-style interior leaves a deep impression. From the tiny menu fonts to the overall shop design, peachy pink elements abound. The owner, who enjoyed observing other store layouts and shopping for lifestyle items while traveling, accumulated experience over time. Later, they teamed up with partners to co-found “Kanda's La Vie Style.”

The internet-famous “Suprise Rainbow Pie” is the flagship dessert. Colorful marshmallows are lightly draped over the sweet pie like a hat—quite playful. The bottom is a fruit pie made up of multiple colors, with a crispy outer crust and filled with all kinds of fresh fruits. The perfect blend of the marshmallows’ sweetness and the juicy fruit filling feels like tasting a “rainbow,” giving the taste buds full satisfaction and an ultra-dreamy experience.

Also causing screams of delight is this “Miss Pie’s Berry World.” This drink features a sparkling beverage as its base and offers a little surprise that bursts in your mouth—plump yogurt balls hidden in the cup make it stand out from typical drinks, turning it into a “drink you can eat.” The large marshmallows on top look like colorful clouds, slowly melting away and winning over netizens’ hearts.

“Saya Wa Sushi Party” and “Sakura Shrimp Fries” are also widely loved and have become super popular menu items. The uniquely presented sushi party serves savory courses in a dessert format, offering a refreshing sensory experience, with an especially rich variety of contents—including tender tamagoyaki (Japanese omelet), yogurt salad, vinegar octopus cold dish, and other sides. The star, donut-shaped sushi, is topped with orange-red shrimp roe. When eaten, the Q-textured, refreshing umami pairs perfectly with the rice flavor, making it undeniably delicious.

Each Sakura Shrimp Fry is deep-fried using a whole shrimp, allowing the golden potato mash to deliver more layers of flavor. More uniquely, colorful balls and CHOCO crisps are added, not only adding a playful visual touch but also balancing savory and sweet tastes.

The owner said that all menu items are inspired by travel experiences. Even when not abroad, they constantly search for related information to understand current trends and preferences. They creatively combine ingredients, fashion, and desserts, treating each developed dish as a gift to customers. This heartfelt approach not only gives the team a great sense of achievement but also warms the hearts of others.

When talking about the startup journey, the boss said they actually didn’t have a sweet tooth. But during a trip to Japan, they tried a not-too-sweet yet delicious fruit pie and thought: if it could attract someone like them who doesn’t love sweets, it would surely be loved in Taiwan. That’s how they decided to open a dessert shop that could enchant everyone. They first opened in Kaohsiung, but since a partner is from Tainan—and Tainan has become a major tourist destination in recent years—they relocated there.

Since opening, they’ve often heard suggestions from customers saying that selling only desserts is a bit of a waste, and that offering brunch would allow people to enjoy a magical afternoon tea right after their meal. Because of this, they started developing a Japanese brunch series, hoping to provide better service to customers.

When asked about future aspirations, the owners said they will continue to uphold the Lavie philosophy, integrating lifestyle and fashion into creative dishes—both sweet and savory—while paying attention to every detail. They aim to stick with the mindset of “not just good, but better,” constantly improving and delivering the most perfect intentions through their food, bringing customers unforgettable memories.
