99.9.9. Eternal Love Wedding at Sun Moon Lake
This year marks the 99th year of the Republic of China, and September 9th, with its homophonic association with "long-lasting love," has become a popular choice for weddings. On the morning of September 9th, 2010—the symbolic "99/9/9"—W Yun Hotel and the Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area Administration jointly hosted the “Eternal Love at W Yun” luxury wedding event.
The selected nine couples will hold their top-tier, fairy-tale weddings in the Sky Lounge. The She indigenous elders of Sun Moon Lake will bless the ceremonies. The event will also feature a first-ever real-time wedding live broadcast service, as well as activities such as a ride on the Alishan “cable car bridal suite,” and a luxury cruise on Sun Moon Lake.
On August 31st of this year, the organizers selected nine couples for the “Eternal Love at W Yun” event. Their professions vary—they include IT engineers, mechanical engineers, civil engineering personnel, bankers, police officers from the National Police Agency, and locals from Kaohsiung, Taoyuan, Taichung, Changhua, as well as residents of Yuchi. All these couples have their own love stories connected to Sun Moon Lake, and they will all pledge their vows by the lake on September 9th, 2010.
In addition to the main event, two special awards were given. The “Most Creative Registration” award went to Mr. Li Xue'er, an electrical instrumentation engineer, and Ms. Tang Yixuan, a graduate of the University of Sydney, who impressed with their uniquely exquisite gift box submission. This couple will be invited to revisit Sun Moon Lake’s W Yun Hotel and enjoy a complimentary luxury romantic dinner aboard the Yunyue Floating Restaurant within one year. The other award, “Best Couple Style,” will be judged during the dinner banquet on September 8th, with the winning couple receiving an upgrade to the Junxi Tower Lakeside Suite, priced at NT$15,400.
