The waterfront becomes more vibrant as the community builds its dream garden
The "12th Annual All-People Landscape Design Competition" has been popular among gardening enthusiasts over the years. This year, to coincide with the end-of-year flower expo, the Taipei City Government specially moved the event to the riverside park to inspire public creativity. Participants used materials such as portulaca, pepperwood, hibiscus, marigold, and pine bark to create unique dream gardens.
Co-hosted with the Seven Star Agricultural Development Foundation, the landscape design competition was held on September 4 at Dao-Nan Riverside Park. Thirty competing teams participated, making for fierce competition. The championship was won by the "True Goodness Tolerance Team," a group of five gardening-loving electricians and plumbers. Their entry, themed "Ode to Flowers," used discarded electrical and plumbing materials to construct a three-dimensional flower stand—both creative and visually striking. The runner-up was Mr. Liu Zhenyuan’s "Life and Death Together Team" with their work "Dream Fulfilled," while the third place went to Ms. Lü Lanting’s "Song? Team" and their piece "Butterfly Love."

All entries will be displayed on-site for a month, adding much color to the riverside park and allowing visitors to enjoy thoughtfully designed landscaping while strolling along the water. Additionally, the student division competition will take place on October 30 in the afternoon at Huazhong Riverside Park.
