The Forestry Bureau under the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan, launched the “Forest Life SPA, Healthy 100” integrated marketing campaign for national forest recreation areas from September 29 to the end of Taiwan’s 100th year of the Republic (2011), uniting 18 national forest recreation areas and featuring a variety of experiential marketing activities along with information on special events planned by each individual forest area.
Yan Rende, Director of the Forestry Bureau, stated that the “Forest Life SPA, Healthy 100” themed series of events take the acronym “SPA” to represent the “18” forest recreation areas, as well as to signify “the stress-relieving enjoyment that forest bathing offers, akin to a high-end spa.” Starting this year, the campaign is also being positioned as a “youth-oriented” brand. In addition to organizing a creative slogan contest highly suitable for university students and young professionals, the Bureau will also launch a fan page on Facebook and host a warm-up experience event on October 10 in eight forest recreation areas across Taiwan. From December onwards, four orienteering competitions will be held over four consecutive months.
Furthermore, starting this year, to enhance the quality of visitors’ travel experiences, the Forestry Bureau introduced the “Non-Holiday, Better Holiday” forest recreation area travel recommendation initiative, encouraging people to visit on weekdays from Monday to Friday. This not only helps avoid the traffic congestion typically seen on public holidays but also allows visitors to fully enjoy the beautiful natural environment under lower ecological pressure. In support of the “Non-Holiday, Better Holiday” initiative, apart from offering an 20% discount on admission tickets and a 30% discount on accommodation, the sponsoring companies of this campaign also provide special discounts on designated products for those who present “receipts from non-holiday visits to national forest recreation areas” at specified locations.
As part of the campaign, the “Brilliant Phrases for Forest Life – Creative Slogan Contest” invites the public to submit their unique travel-inspired catchphrases along with photos taken at forest recreation areas—either individually or in groups—to join the competition, with a top prize of NT$20,000.
