With mobile internet becoming more and more accessible and smartphones becoming increasingly common, the Taipei City Government has launched the “MOTA Fun Travel Taipei Map,” which integrates map navigation, transportation information, and various convenience services. The public can use it on regular networks and smartphones, as well as on fixed multimedia kiosks (Kisok) to search for travel info. Currently, MOTA multimedia kiosks have been set up in key MRT stations, bus transfer stations, tourist service centers, and the lobbies of 60 Flower Expo partner hotels in Taipei City.

The “MOTA Fun Travel Taipei Map” provides information on Taiwan Railways, high-speed rail, and flight schedules, map navigation, real-time urban traffic conditions, and parking availability. It also shows nearby bus routes and stop locations, and allows users to download transportation route plans to their phones via Bluetooth. In addition to transport info, MOTA multimedia kiosks at Flower Expo partner hotels also offer weather updates, daily foreign exchange rates, merchant coupons, QR code downloads for merchant info, downloads of Taipei Panorama and the Discover Taipei e-book, access to the 1999 Citizen Hotline and car services. The thoughtful “MOTA” wants you to “touch it,” giving residents and tourists a more tech-savvy experience of Taipei.
