The dried flower trend continues to boom, captivating girls everywhere. Now many restaurants are seizing this business opportunity, offering not only delicious food but also photogenic settings. But to keep customers coming back, a unique charm is essential. Taipei’s “VERY GOOD CAFE” is one such example, blending a hipster vibe with romantic floral artistry and pairing it with the currently trendy industrial-style décor to create a café that may seem mismatched but is surprisingly harmonious. Their signature “carrot cake” is simply astonishing, earning rave reviews for its exceptional value for money.

Located in Taipei’s Da’an District, VERY GOOD CAFE is a hidden gem nestled in the city’s alleys. It doesn’t just serve coffee drinks but also offers options like handmade desserts and savory items. As soon as you step inside, you’ll find that the front section is a flower shop. After passing through a short corridor, you’ll reach the dining area in the back. The seating area features wooden tables and chairs. There aren’t many seats, which helps reduce the sense of crowding, replaced instead by a bright, comfortable, and simple atmosphere. If you look around carefully, you’ll notice traces of industrial style—black-and-white and color photos are displayed on the walls, adding the perfect touch to the primarily floral-decorated space and giving the girly ambiance a bit more edge.

VERY GOOD CAFE is a multi-concept café. The front section is “Everyday Floral Design,” a flower shop that not only sells flowers but also provides wedding and event decoration services. The back section is “VERY GOOD CAFE.” Both businesses are run by young and beautiful female owners who were originally good friends from a previous job. Bonded by shared interests, they decided to start a business together, leading to the creation of this shop. This explains why the entrance sign “Everyday is your Very Good day.” combines the names of the two shops.

The shop offers different dessert options based on daily available ingredients. Among the most beloved by customers is the “carrot cake,” made with cinnamon, walnuts, rich whipped cream, and carrot cake layers. The multi-layered filling enhances the cake’s rich flavor. With each bite, besides the soft and fluffy texture, the crunchiness from the nuts adds a refreshing contrast. The carrot flavor, which some girls might fear, is cleverly masked by the cinnamon. Limited availability makes it highly sought after. In addition, the wine-flavored tiramisu and the tangy lemon glaze cake are also flagship items. The savory dishes are no less impressive—ordering a sandwich or pasta during meal times is also a great choice.
