The most anticipated holiday of the year—Christmas—is just around the corner, and hotels around the world are decorating their lobbies and entrances with Christmas trees. Tall and lavish decorations have almost become the norm, but this year, London is featuring an underwater-themed Christmas tree titled “Under the Sea,” which features ornaments made of coral, seahorses, anemones, starfish, and jellyfish—an incredibly unique design that has attracted many travelers and locals alike.

The deep-sea Christmas tree is located at the London art hotel “Claridge's.” This Christmas tree was created by Dior’s creative director John Galliano, who aimed to craft a fantastical underwater world by blending pink corals, seahorses, anemones, and jellyfish that sparkle like gemstones and move gracefully among silver leaves. The tree transforms the hotel into an ocean paradise.

Thomas Kochs, General Manager of Claridge's, said: “We are delighted to have the renowned designer John Galliano create a Christmas tree for our hotel, bringing a magical festive atmosphere to the lobby. Following last year’s dazzling tree, Galliano’s new design is sure to be the talk of the town this Christmas. Claridge's and Dior both embody a rich heritage and timeless elegance, and we look forward to celebrating the season together.” The deep-sea Christmas tree will be on display until January 5, 2011.
