Japan’s Sushiro opens its first street-front store in Taiwan on January 18 / Check out 60 sushi menu items first

Japan’s conveyor belt sushi chain Sushiro’s sixth branch in Taiwan, the “Taichung Fukuo Store,” is tentatively set to open on January 18. This will be its second outlet in Taichung and the first street-front store in Taiwan, featuring 199 seats. With two weeks to go before the opening, the official Facebook page has not only shared exterior photos but also unveiled Sushiro’s menu, which includes as many as 60 types of sushi—featuring signature items such as aged tuna, unagi teriyaki, and large raw shrimp.

In addition, the store recommends eight sushi options: Spicy Tuna Gunkan, Yuzu Squid Leg, Hokkaido Grilled Saury, Pork Salt with Scallions, Yuzu-Marinated Tuna, Yuzu-Marinated Salmon, Grilled Teriyaki Shrimp, and Black Pepper Frost Tuna—all priced at NT$40. Beyond sushi, Sushiro also offers side dishes such as ramen, udon, fried chicken, and tempura, along with popular desserts like soy milk doughnuts, New York cheesecake, Italian tiramisu, and chocolate banana sundaes.

Sushiro highlights four key features in its self-introduction: Freshness Button, touchscreen ordering, high-speed conveyor belt, and surprise gashapon. The Freshness Button allows customers to lift the plate slightly to automatically open the lid without human contact, preventing the spread of bacteria; each table is equipped with a dedicated touchscreen; the high-speed conveyor belt ensures quick delivery of orders; the surprise gashapon gives customers a chance to win exclusive limited-edition toys after using five plates and depositing them in the collection slot.
