Taiwan’s First Solar-Powered Piano Floor: Sanchong’s Sunshine Piano Floor Creates Melodies with Every Step

Walking in the park, you suddenly hear beautiful piano music coming from the ground? It’s not an illusion — it’s a clever idea from the Sanchong District Office in New Taipei City. To promote community revitalization and bring art and music into the neighborhood, Sanchong’s Cisheng Park has installed Taiwan’s first-ever solar-powered piano floor. By simply stepping on the keys, visitors can create wonderful music, making it a big hit among local residents.

This fun piano floor is located in Cisheng Park, Sanchong, New Taipei. It measures 4.6 meters in length and 1.1 meters in width, featuring 36 keys. While it has fewer keys than a traditional piano, it can still “play” a variety of rich and melodious tunes. Notably, it’s called a “sunshine” piano floor because it’s powered by solar energy — a creative and educational feature.

Since its completion, this sunshine piano floor has become a favorite not only for kids but also for many seniors and people with limited mobility, who can all enjoy its fun without restrictions. It’s a truly inclusive and innovative community facility.
