The 7-ELEVEN mobile app offers a free Wi-Fi experience.

7-ELEVEN stated that the smartphone user base is growing rapidly. According to NCC statistics, the number of mobile internet users has reached 18 million. The addition of smartphones has driven mobile Wi-Fi usage to grow tenfold, and it is estimated that smartphones will account for more than half of the market within three years, leading to a significant increase in demand for convenient internet access. Since 2004, 7-ELEVEN has been rolling out wifly services, which previously offered wireless internet only in northern outlets. With the introduction of 7WiFi wireless internet, the customer base will be further expanded. By integrating the three major wireless internet services—7WiFi, Wifly, and Chunghwa Telecom WiFi—7-ELEVEN is set to attract over a million wireless internet users. Before officially launching 7WiFi, a test phase saw over 10,000 users within a week, and just two hours after opening at 10:00 AM on December 28, over 2,000 users had already connected.

7-ELEVEN’s 7WiFi wireless internet service offers two options: a daily pass (NT$50) and a monthly pass (NT$350), both available for purchase through the ibon convenience life station under the 【Top-up】 or 【Telecom Recharge】 services. To celebrate the completion of its full-scale deployment, 7-ELEVEN is offering all consumers a free trial from December 29 to January 31 of the year 100 (2011), marking the largest free wireless internet trial campaign in Taiwan.
