The Centennial National Day Lantern Festival unveils cultural and creative souvenir merchandise

After a selection process, the Miaoli County Government has introduced 12 lantern festival cultural and creative merchandise items that incorporate local culture. Each piece holds commemorative value, including T-shirts, mugs, fluorescent hairbands, Centennial of the Republic of China commemorative keychains, glow-in-the-dark bracelets, tote bags, inspired by the festival mascots “Mingming” and “Liangliang,” as well as Chinese-style Year of the Rabbit motifs. Other items include impression postcards of the Saisiyat ethnic group featuring weaving patterns from Nanzhuang, multifunctional photo frames of Shengxing Station, small ink pads designed with the shape of ancient wells, and stationery sets themed around Shengxing Station and Hakka Mansions. There is also a Hakka belly-band bag gift set that combines traditional Hakka crafts with Hakka floral fabric and tung blossom designs. These cultural and creative goods can all be purchased at the “Taiwan Lantern Festival Designated Souvenir Area” stalls.

The county government has also set up 35 service booths around the lantern area, parking lots, shuttle bus stations, and train stations. Around 2,342 personnel from relevant county government units and at least 1,375 volunteers from 77 community organizations are stationed there to provide consultation, route guidance, wheelchair and stroller rentals, search assistance, bottled water, and raincoat distribution services.
