Italy’s four-star hotel “Hotel Terme Millepini” is famous for its 40-foot-deep pool, where visitors can dive and swim freely even in the city, attracting many diving enthusiasts to book stays. Now, Asia’s only dedicated diving hotel is about to be born — located in West District, Taichung, built with a $200 million investment, and drawing huge attention even before opening.

To provide an easily accessible urban space for diving anytime, the operator invested $200 million to build Divecube Hotel — Taiwan’s and Asia’s first-ever diving hotel. The hotel has 30 capsule rooms, and the restaurant features observation windows where guests can watch divers in action underwater.

The operator engaged an Italian architectural team to meticulously design the facility, which took a year and two months to complete. The striking diving hotel is now taking shape, featuring a 21-meter-deep dive pool with themed elements such as a shipwreck and underwater caves. Although underwater scenery in the city may not rival that of the ocean, diving while admiring the vibrant city nightlife offers a uniquely memorable experience.
