Located in the Sanxing area of Yilan, Changpi Lake Scenic Area sits at an altitude of 135 meters. It’s hard not to be drawn to this lake nestled in the mountainside when passing by on your way to Mingchi, Taipingshan, or Wuling Farm. There’s an artificial “fountain” in the lake, and if you’re lucky, you might even spot a rainbow alongside it—absolutely breathtaking views!

The water level of Changpi Lake is automatically regulated and remains unfrozen year-round. If you’re traveling to Mingchi, Taipingshan, or Wuling Farm via Provincial Highway 7B, you’ll pass right by here. Aside from the daily fountain show after the park opens, the extended lakeside walking path added last year is another highlight. Originally 520 meters long, the path has been extended with new sections to form a nearly 1-kilometer route. Hiking through the forest, you can also spot a small waterfall. A full loop takes about 30 minutes.

The beautiful lakes and mountain scenery make you feel like you've stepped into another world, offering a serene and peaceful escape. The lake is home to swans and mallards that swim freely, making any casual smartphone photo opportunity a postcard-worthy scene.

The entire Changpi Lake Scenic Area is divided into several zones, including a lakeside activity area, vacation lodging zone, camping area, campfire barbecue area, water play zone, fitness activity area, and hiking & sightseeing zone. Whether you’re here for a day trip or a two-day one-night mini-vacation, there are plenty of activities. With rich ecological resources, you can see butterflies fluttering during the day and fireflies lighting up the night sky. Visitors can hike the mountains, circle the lake, and enjoy abundant ecological beauty.
