High demand for Malaysia Airlines, increased flights between Taipei-Kuala Lumpur and Kaohsiung-Sabah

In addition to the three new Boeing 737-800 direct flights between Taipei and Kuala Lumpur added in 2009, Malaysia Airlines plans to add one more weekly direct flight to Kuala Lumpur every Saturday starting April 2, bringing the total to seven flights per week. The Taipei–Kota Kinabalu (Sabah)–Kuala Lumpur route will maintain seven weekly flights, totaling 14. Starting June 3, the route will be adjusted to Taipei–Sabah. For the central and southern Taiwan markets, the five weekly flights from Kaohsiung via Sabah to Kuala Lumpur will be changed to Kaohsiung–Sabah starting June 5, increasing to six flights per week.
