The globally popular F1 (Formula One) racing event is one of the most beloved sports in the world, attracting over 360 million viewers each year. Entering its 13th year, the Malaysian Formula One Grand Prix will speed onto the track from April 8 to 10, 2011, at the Sepang International Circuit. Malaysia holds three national shopping promotions each year, and the 30-day-long 2011 Malaysian Shopping Festival will start at the same time as the Malaysian F1 event.

The Sepang Circuit has been a F1 race venue since 1999, and its most distinctive feature is the two long straights that surround the central grandstand area. Spectators can witness drivers braking hard from speeds exceeding 300 km/h and navigating the hairpin turn at less than 100 km/h. This year’s highlight is the return of three Malaysia-based teams to compete on home soil, with both teams and drivers giving their all, promising an even more exciting and intense race.

During this time of year in Malaysia, in addition to the highly anticipated F1 event, the Malaysian Grand Prix Sale will also take place in Kuala Lumpur.
