2018 Taipei Lantern Festival test lighting: the adorable Happiness Magic Dog and the Beimen light projection steal the show

The 2018 Taipei Lantern Festival officially kicked off at 6 PM on February 24, with a test lighting event held on the 23rd where major lantern zones began to shine. From Ximen Station to Beimen Station, many visitors and locals started coming to view and take photos. In addition to the main lantern in front of Ximen Red House, each zone had its own photo-worthy highlights.

Featuring this year’s “Pikachu Outbreak” event and a PokéStop map.

Recreating the former glory of the old Ximen (Baoying Gate) city wall.

Features the Art Youth Pavilion made of numerous tin-can lanterns.
