Mangrove landscapes aren’t only found in Tamsui and Sicao.The "Hongmaogang Mangrove" in Xinfeng Township, Hsinchu, is the only mangrove in northern Taiwan where both Kandelia obovata and Avicennia marina grow together,covering an area of 8.5 hectares. Spot a red arched bridge spanning the mouth of the Hongmao River, and you’ve found it.

The park features walking trails, with several wooden pavilions and viewing platforms along the way for rest. The most beautiful sight is undoubtedly the lush "green tunnel," where Kandelia obovata trees taller than a person line both sides of the boardwalk. Walking here feels like stepping into a mysterious scene from a Totoro movie, immersed in a world of nothing but green, offering a highly atmospheric experience.

After walking through the green tunnel, don’t forget to climb up to the observation tower. From here, the view is expansive, allowing you to w??? the entire park site ????? and catch glimpses of seagulls flying over the sea at dusk. The wooden deck offers a great spot to enjoy the sea breeze. Even though the tide has receded, the wetland floor is still dotted with water puddles reflecting the blue sky and white clouds. Standing on the viewing platform, you can feel the unique atmosphere of this tranquil wetland landscape intertwined with the sea and sky. The golden hour paints everything with a warm glow.

In addition to plants like Kandelia obovata and Avicennia marina, the "Hongmaogang Mangrove" also boasts rich ecology, where you can spot intertidal organisms such as fiddler crabs, shrimp, fish, shellfish, and seabirds. Known as a national treasure-level ecological classroom, it’s also a great educational and fun destination.

To protect the mangrove landscape, visitors are urged to act responsibly by taking their trash with them, not venturing into the wetlands for photos, or engaging in any behavior that could damage the scenery, so more people can enjoy the beauty of this place.
