Welcoming summer vacation: Tokyo Disneyland's Flying Magic Carpet opens

In the sunny summer season, Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea will bring endless fun-filled holiday moments to visitors. First up is the Japanese Tanabata Special Event from July 1 to July 7, where at the “Tanabata Welcome Ceremony,” Disney characters will dress in festive Tanabata attire to greet park guests. Not only will Mickey and Minnie dressed as the Cowherd and the Weaver Girl arrive in a rickshaw, but other Disney characters such as Snow White and Prince Charming, as well as Stitch and Angel, will also join in, delivering a joyful and heartwarming welcome ceremony.

As the hot summer arrives, spray zones will be set up in Tokyo Disney parks to offer visitors refreshing mists. From July 8 to August 31, there will also be a special event called “Cool Summer,” featuring dazzling water jets up to 50 meters high and lively dance performances by Disney characters to help beat the heat. This year, the “Tokyo Disneyland Electrical Parade: DreamLights” will introduce four brand-new floats, presenting the park under the starry sky with an unprecedentedly brilliant display. The Genie from Aladdin will transform into a spectacular float with ever-changing lighting effects, showcasing his playful and humorous side.

Additionally, starting July 18, the new attraction “Jasmine’s Flying Carpet” at Tokyo DisneySea officially opens, taking guests on a flight above Princess Jasmine’s garden, offering a bird’s-eye view of the world of Disney’s animated film “Aladdin” from 5 meters above the ground. As the carpet soars through the blue sky, guests can even control the flying height and tilt angle themselves, experiencing the sensation of freely flying on a magic carpet.
