Hakone is a popular suburban destination close to Tokyo, offering stunning views of Mount Fuji, as well as famous hot springs and delicious cuisine. It's also a great spot for honeymoons and dates. To attract more Taiwanese travelers to Hakone, the Japan Travel Information Bureau is holding the “Spend a Night in Hakone – Monthly Draw” campaign from now until December 31. Simply leave a comment on their Facebook fan page to participate. Each month, one prize of a 2-day-1-night Hakone trip for two will be awarded. Quickly gather your friends and join in!

From Shinjuku in Tokyo, it only takes 90 minutes to reach Hakone by Odakyu train. By purchasing the Odakyu Hakone Free Pass, you can travel directly from Shinjuku to Hakone-Yumoto Station and enjoy five different types of transportation experiences. These include the Hakone Tozan Train that climbs up the mountain at an incline, the Hakone Ropeway, the Hakone Cable Car, and a cruise on Lake Ashi aboard the Hakone Pirate Ship. When taking the ropeway from Sounzan Station, you can get off at Owakudani Station in the sulfur district. At the Togendai Yudofu Restaurant halfway up the mountain, you can try the famous black eggs boiled in hot springs. Legend says eating one can add seven years to your life, hence its nickname “longevity black egg.”
