Taipei Tourism Passport launches limited-edition commemorative package on August 1

As the one-month anniversary of the opening of individual travel for mainland Chinese tourists to Taiwan approaches, the Taipei City Government has redesigned and is releasing a limited run of 1,500 “Taipei Pass Taipei Tourism Passport Commemorative Packages.” Each set includes 1-day, 2-day, 3-day, 5-day passes, and a 1-day pass for the Maokong Gondola, totaling five tickets. The original price is NT$1,880, but they are available at a discounted price of NT$1,699. Sales start on August 1 with limited quantities available until sold out.

The design concept of this package draws inspiration from Taipei’s renowned tourist attractions and landmarks, such as Yangmingshan, Longshan Temple in Wanhua, Beitou Hot Springs, Beitou Meiting, Maokong Gondola, Taipei 101, Miramar Ferris Wheel, and National Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. It also incorporates iconic local snacks like xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), beef noodles, and bubble tea. Presented in hand-drawn illustrations with vibrant colors, the package showcases the diversity of Taipei. When the five tickets are placed together, they form a map of Taipei City’s administrative districts. Both domestic and international travelers can use these beautifully designed tickets to explore Taipei’s streets and alleys via the convenient MRT public transportation network. The set also holds significant collectible value.

The Taipei Pass Taipei Tourism Passport Commemorative Package goes on sale starting August 1 at four Taipei MRT convenience stores: Taipei Main Station, Zhongxiao Fuxing, Taipei Arena, and Maokong Gondola. They are also available at the EasyCard customer service center on the B1 floor of Taipei Main Station and the publication and souvenir center on the 1st floor of Taipei City Hall. In addition to the commemorative package, individual tickets can also be purchased. Options include: 1-day pass for NT$180, 2-day pass for NT$310, 3-day pass for NT$440, 5-day pass for NT$700, and the Maokong Gondola 1-day pass for NT$250. Cardholders can enjoy unlimited rides on buses and the Taipei MRT system in Taipei City and New Taipei City for the validity period of their ticket. The Maokong Gondola 1-day pass allows unlimited rides on the gondola. Individual tickets are available for purchase at all MRT stations.
