EVA Air’s Shanghai and Beijing routes offer “Elite Class” service

EVA Air announced that starting August 15, its Taipei Taoyuan–Beijing, Taipei Taoyuan–Shanghai Pudong, and Kaohsiung–Shanghai Pudong routes will offer the highly popular “Elite Class” service preferred by business travelers. Due to the high volume of passengers traveling directly between Shanghai, Beijing, and Taiwan, seat availability has been significantly limited. Therefore, these three routes will specially deploy large aircraft such as the Boeing 777-300ER or 747-400 to maximize flight efficiency. To further enhance service quality and meet passenger needs, these three routes will provide Elite Class service on par with long-haul flights.

EVA Air stated that Elite Class passengers on the Shanghai and Beijing routes can enjoy exclusive check-in counters and an increased baggage allowance of 25 kilograms. In terms of meal design, in addition to offering more refined and diverse meals, premium tableware is used to highlight a sense of luxury. Seasonal offerings may also include internationally renowned Häagen-Dazs ice cream, Dajia Yuzhenxin Purple Jade Pastry, or Taichung A-Ming’s Sun Cakes and other traditional Chinese pastries.

EVA Air’s “Elite Class” uses business class seats commonly found on other airlines, with a seat pitch of up to 38 inches, linked cushions, and adjustable headrests, providing passengers with cradle-like comfort. The seatbacks are equipped with an 8.4-inch XGA high-resolution touchscreen and power outlets, allowing passengers to work or relax during the flight. EVA Air’s “Elite Class,” originally named “Economy Deluxe Class” (later renamed “EVA Cabin”), has been highly praised by passengers since its launch in 1992 and was once ranked No. 1 in the world for “Best Premium Economy Class” by SKYTRAX.
