The "Funin" Film Season in Taichung: Watch Movies for Free & Win Plane Tickets

Watching movies in the summer is the most relaxing and delightful experience. The "2011 Taichung Film Fun in Season" event organized by the Taichung City Government will run from August 13 to October 29, featuring 25 movie screenings across ten administrative districts, including 6 large-scale outdoor screenings. After watching the films, audiences can enter a lucky draw with their ticket stubs. Prizes include round-trip plane tickets for two from Taichung to India, fragrance products from Hebo Garden, and Indian travel books — giving the public a chance to enjoy Bollywood dance performances and taste authentic Indian cuisine.

This year’s event theme is "Bollywood India." The opening and closing performances also feature special acts by the ICCR Odissi Dance Troupe from India and the Taichung-based Butterfly Dance Center, among others, bringing spectacular shows to the audience. Moviegoers are welcome to experience the luxurious and passionate Indian dance and music live on-site.

In addition to Indian-themed films, the event also includes various themes such as local Taiwanese films, family-friendly movies, spiritual experiences, and popular blockbusters. Multiple free lectures and hands-on workshops are offered, including sessions led by travel expert Jian Yi-wen and Chen Jing-yuan, founder of the Taiwan Holistic Yoga Association, who will share insights on Indian culture and information. There will also be a talk by director Yang Li-chou, known for hit Taiwanese films "Cheerful Youth Cheerleading Squad" and "Forgotten Times." The public is warmly invited to participate.
