JAL slashes prices massively – now’s the perfect time to shop in Tokyo

After the 311 earthquake in Japan, thanks to strong support from all sides, recovery across the country has been excellent. Within this period, fly round-trip from Taipei or Kaohsiung to Tokyo (Narita) with JAL at promotional Q-class fares – just NT$9,500 (tax excluded) from Taipei and NT$13,000 (tax excluded) from Kaohsiung. Besides discounted fares, starting April 1 of this year, Japan Airlines has unified the free checked baggage allowance on international routes under a piece system, different from the previous weight-based system used for Asia and Europe routes. The free checked baggage allowance has been increased to two pieces per passenger, with each piece not exceeding 23 kg — that’s a total of 46 kg for checked luggage.
