Travel Taipei to the rhythm of music—the MRT Exit Music Festival kicks off every Saturday.

The “2011 Taipei MRT Exit Music Festival” will run for five consecutive Saturdays from this Saturday (September 10) to October 8, featuring a diverse and vibrant lineup of music as its centerpiece, offering a rich musical feast. This year’s event has invited numerous well-known singers and performance groups, bringing together a powerful lineup spanning three generations—young, middle-aged, and veteran artists—including Taiwanese music king Wen Xia, pop music representative Lu Zhengzhong, singer-songwriter Xu Jialing, Xie Hexian, Girls and Robots, pub diva Wei Wei, piano poet Wang Junjie, as well as the Taipei Jazz Orchestra and Aurora Percussion Ensemble.

This Saturday, September 10 (Sat) from 15:00 to 17:00 at the exit of MRT Jiannan Road Station, the 12-year-old band Wanfu and SKAROKE (a big band blending reggae, jazz, and urban pop rock) will open the event. Wanfu’s lead vocalist and guitarist Xiao Min, along with the band members, will ignite the audience’s enthusiasm with their youthful, cute, and joyful creations, blending a touch of light nostalgia and humor. SKAROKE will deliver an energetic SKA style that invites everyone to sway happily to the rhythm.

In addition to the exciting performances, the organizers have also prepared a variety of fun prize-winning giveaways at the event, including digital cameras, music CDs, and limited-edition designer T-shirts. Attendees who join all five concerts will have the chance to win round-trip tickets from Taipei to Sydney sponsored by Virgin Atlantic Airways and a Contiki Youth Travel Fund sponsored by Golden Show Travel Agency. In addition, ten thousand free MRT EasyCard sleeves in five different color schemes have been specially designed for the public to collect.
