Fun and Educational: A One-Day Farm Trip for Families in New Taipei City

New Taipei City covers an area of over 2,000 square kilometers and boasts diverse landscapes such as mountains, streams, tea plantations, and farmland. The government is actively promoting the development of leisure agriculture. Starting September 10 this year, it has planned various one-day farm tour packages, allowing families to visit farms and enjoy the fun of educational experiences through hands-on travel activities.

The leisure agriculture experience activities consist of seven different tour routes, including the Bei-Xin Organic Leisure Farm, Fanpo-Lin Sightseeing Garden, Ali-Pang Ecological Farm, Hobe Leisure Agriculture Area, Pinglin Leisure Farm, Zhun Leisure Farm, and the “Wen-Shan Farm” operated by the New Taipei City Farmers' Association. Each route has its own unique features. For example, “Zhun Leisure Farm” in Wugu functions like an ecological classroom, where experts guide visitors to learn about various plants and insect ecology. “Bei-Xin Leisure Farm” is led by a vegetable expert who has won the “Shennong Award,” teaching participants about organic vegetable cultivation and how to make compost. In addition to farm ecology tours, “Ali-Pang Ecological Farm” also offers a stream ecology experience along the Ali-Pang Creek—perfect for cooling off in the summer heat.

The “Hobe Leisure Agriculture Area” allows DIY salted tofu making, giving visitors the joy of grinding beans and making tofu themselves. “Pinglin Leisure Farm” features a stream filled with negative ions and mist, as well as a rich subtropical forest environment. “Fanpo-Lin Farm” is led by a flower expert, taking visitors through flower fields to enjoy beautiful scenery and rural cuisine. “Wen-Shan Farm” lets you explore tea plantations, taste special tea-themed meals, and stroll under century-old olive trees for a relaxing experience.

Registration for the activities is open until all slots are filled. The public can sign up online to enjoy discounted packages. In the northern region, activities will be held on September 10, September 17, September 24, and October 1, with four sessions in total—each offering four activity options. In the southern region, activities will take place on September 27, September 30, October 4, and October 7, with four sessions in total—each offering three activity options.
