As the weather cools after Mid-Autumn Festival, the delicious season of autumn crabs arrives, bringing the mouthwatering rich crab roe and tender crab meat that food lovers crave. From September 22 to October 31, Jun Yuan Hotel presents its “Find the Crab” seasonal menu. Both its Yee Palace Chinese Restaurant and Cloud Lounge Western Restaurant offer different set menus, allowing diners to indulge to their heart’s content.

Yee Palace Chinese Restaurant unveils the “Butter Crab Set Menu.” Sourced from Deep Bay in Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta region, butter crabs feature shells that transition between red and yellow, with the crab roe being the star of the dish. Paired with Zhenjiang vinegar, the rich flavor is smooth and sweet on the palate. The authentic Hong Kong-style “Sichuan peppercorn and satay vermicelli with fried mud crab” uses Sichuan and Chongqing peppercorns that deliver numbing—not spicy—heat, paired with satay to cook 22 to 24 liang (approximately 8–9 oz) of large, firm-textured mud crabs with sweet flesh.

Meanwhile, Cloud Lounge Western Restaurant incorporates French creative cuisine techniques to offer dishes such as “Sea & Land Wellington with Lobster Herb Sauce” and “Crab Cheese Soufflé with Sea Urchin Sauce.” The “Herb-infused brandy-seared large mud crab” features a stone pot heated from the bottom with stones for insulation. Large fennel fronds, thyme, and garlic are placed inside with the crab to braise, before pouring in brandy. The succulent, uniquely aromatic crab meat is utterly addictive. Why not treat yourself this autumn appetite season?
