Eye-catching Japanese-style storehouse exterior: Kurazushi Taichung Fukuo Branch Opens, 10% Off When You Check In and Post a Photo

The popular Japanese conveyor-belt sushi chain Kurazushi, which will soon celebrate its third year in Taiwan, will open its first Taiwanese store with a traditional "kura" (Japanese storehouse) façade on January 18 on Fukuang Road, Taichung. This will be its sixth branch in Taiwan. From the opening day until February 10, diners who check in and like the official Facebook page of Kurazushi Taichung Fukuo Branch and share photos of their meal along with their dining experience can enjoy a 10% discount.

The Taichung Fukuo Branch features a traditional Japanese kura architectural design for the store, supervised and constructed in Taiwan by the Japanese head office’s architectural team. Its unique building style costs 1.5 times more than a typical outlet. Mr. Kunihiko Tanaka, President of Kurazushi Japan, hopes to make Kurazushi a treasure trove that brings customers anticipation and delight — the very inspiration behind the brand name. He also aims to offer Taiwanese diners a different visual experience from conventional conveyor-belt sushi shops through this street-front format.

Having been in Taiwan for three years now, Kurazushi reports that its most popular sushi among Taiwanese customers belongs to the “grilled series,” with over one million plates sold across its five Taiwan outlets. In addition to expanding its presence, Kurazushi will soon introduce new menu items tailored to Taiwanese tastes, including seven varieties of rich seafood miso ramen perfect for winter, Sanuki-style hot-pot udon, as well as limited-time offerings such as yuzu-flavored raw squid legs, Korean-style spicy tuna battleship rolls, and Hokkaido grilled saury.
