Improved services as Macau Tourism & Cultural Activities Centre newly opens

An increasing number of people are now considering Macau as a two- or three-day travel destination rather than just a brief transit stop, leading to rapid development in Macau’s tourism industry in recent years with visitor numbers rising year after year. To enable tourists to explore Macau more deeply, the Macau Tourism Board established the Macau Tourism & Cultural Activities Centre at the end of September, providing a wealth of information for visitors from around the world.

The five-storey Tourism & Cultural Activities Centre, situated in the Praça de São Paulo square by the Ruins of St. Paul’s, offers information on travel, hotels, dining, and transportation, as well as currency exchange services and sales of “Made in Macau” products. The building’s design incorporates Macau’s developmental history, showcasing a unique cultural blend of Eastern and Western influences. The first floor also features a Portuguese-style tea house “Lusitanus,” where visitors can enjoy coffee in the Portuguese style, Portuguese egg tarts, and other Portuguese delicacies, along with traditional Portuguese music performances. The second floor’s “Macau Tea Story” exudes a strong Chinese vibe, focusing on promoting Chinese tea culture, where travelers can sample teas and engage in tea art exchanges.

Additionally, those planning to visit Macau can get a taste of its diverse charm before departure. The Macau Tourism Board’s “Feel Macau. Moving Moments” travel guidebook has been available for download since September.
