“FUN” Your Way Through Taipei: Visit Attractions & Win an iPad2 or GF2 Camera

Taipei boasts many distinctive tourist attractions. The Taipei City Government’s Department of Information and Tourism, in collaboration with nine cable TV stations, has launched the “Unfinished Taipei - A Century of Charm Revived” series of events, which kicked off on the 24th. These include special feature reports, online sharing of travel experiences, and the “FUN Your Way Through Taipei” stamp-collecting raffle. Members of the public who collect stamps at designated attractions before December 5 will have a chance to win major prizes such as an iPad2, a GF2 camera, and a folding bicycle.

The Taipei tourism attraction introductions produced by Changde Cable TV consist of 25 episodes, each five minutes long. The content covers eight major themes: classic old shops, temple tours, nostalgia meets innovation, Taipei cuisine, urban memories, hiking trails, healthy living, and hidden gems. The 13 recommended attractions include Ximending Red House, Maokong Gondola Zoo Station, Maokong Gondola Muzha Station, Rixin Type Foundry, YJ Tea, Lin Liuxin Puppetry Memorial Hall, Taipei Home, Huashan 1914 Creative Park, Celebrity Cafe, Treasure Hill Artist Village, City God Temple of Xiademen, Beitou Cultural Artifacts Museum, and Beitou Hot Spring Museum.

The special feature videos air every Monday to Friday from October 24 to November 25. They are broadcast at 18:00 on Channel 3 (“Public Channel”) and on Channels 4 of Changde, Vantage, and Lai Guan cable TV stations, at 19:00 on Channel 4 of Yangmingshan, New Taipei, Golden Channel, and Da’an Wenshan cable TV stations, and at 18:30 on Channel 4 of Lianwei and Baofu cable TV stations.

To encourage the public to head outdoors and explore these unique attractions, anyone who downloads a stamp-collecting voucher from the event website or picks one up at the Taipei Explorer Dome, or the joint service counters of Changde, Lai Guan, and Vantage Cable TV (No. 345, Jilin Rd, Taipei) and at the 13 designated attractions before December 5 can get stamps at any four different designated attractions. By doing so, they’ll be eligible to win major prizes such as an iPad2, a ViewPad 7 touchscreen tablet, a Panasonic GF2 digital SLR camera, and a multi-speed suspension folding bicycle.
