Enjoy the romance and peace of the Roselle Flower Festival in Jinfeng, Taitung!

This year’s series of events for the Roselle Flower Festival in Jinfeng Township, Taitung County, will be held from November 12 to 20 at the Xinxing Community Cultural Park (at the foot of the Dendrobium Mountain in TaiMaLi), featuring an “opening blessing by the eight tribal chiefs.” The event includes five major themes: “story performances,” “exhibitions,” “product sales,” “hands-on experiences,” and “carnival activities,” allowing visitors to delve into local customs and gain insight into the rich life wisdom between indigenous peoples and nature.

This year’s Roselle Flower Festival centers around the flower’s meaning — “love and peace” — creating a loving paradise where visitors can recall cherished memories of love and create new ones to keep in their hearts. The organizers have arranged a series of travel packages, including Roselle Flower Festival challenge activities, visits to the pottery jar street, DIY handicrafts, storytelling sessions with tribal chiefs, tours of the Sabuyu Tribe, leisurely exploration along the TaiMaLi River and Jinxi Stream basins, farmer work-exchange experiences, and tasting roselle-flavored meals… and more. Visitors can also win attractive prizes through online essay contests and street maze activities.

Known as the “Land of the Hundred-Pace Viper,” Jinfeng Township gets its name from the legends of the mountain-dwelling Paiwan and Rukai indigenous tribes, who believe they are descendants of the hundred-pace viper and hold deep reverence for their guardian spirit, the yG hundred-pace viper. Although the township was severely hit by Typhoon Morakot in the past, with scenes of collapsed houses still haunting, the resilient and optimistic spirit of Jinfeng’s people shines once again during the Roselle Flower Festival.
