Free download of award-winning works from the Taipei Fun APP

The "2011 Taipei Fun APP Competition," organized by the Taipei City Government's Department of Information and Tourism, has announced the winners: Champion Taipei Fever Taipei Fever, Runner-up Go Taipei, Third-place PK Taipei, and Winners Taipei Click and Taipei Events. These apps are now available for free download on the App Store and Android Market starting today. The organizing committee will also introduce the award-winning works one by one on the Facebook fan page "Taipei Fun APP Competition" and provide links to their download platforms.

A total of 55 entries were submitted in the "Application Category," which were categorized into three types: "Local Life Made Easy," "I’m the Best at Taipei Tourism," and "Cultural Taipei Here." Among them, the "Local Life Made Easy" entry "Go Taipei" is based on the content of the Taipei Tourism Network, offering app versions in Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean, reaching audiences globally, serving as a small but effective force in promoting Taipei’s tourism information.

The "I’m the Best at Taipei Tourism" entry "TaipeiFever Taipei Fever" provides a service for users to search for nearby Wi-Fi hotspots (Hot Spots), and showcases various local Taipei photos on a Taipei image wall that come together to form the Taipei city emblem, helping to enhance tourists’ impression of the emblem. Users can also zoom in on the emblem and move its parts to discover different facets of Taipei — a very interesting feature.

"PK Taipei" utilizes mobile LBS functionality to allow the public to vote and rate Taipei’s food and attractions in real time, making it easier for tourists to find these spots or restaurants. It provides users with the latest, most timely, and accurate information.

Additionally, among the 123 entries in the "Creative Proposal Category," the award-winning works include: High-Speed Rail Taipei Eki-Naka Tour, Taipei Traveler, Night Market Life, Mirror Taipei City, EZBUS in Taipei, as well as a special High-Speed Rail award "My Taipei." All propose unique insights into developing tourism apps using mobile LBS features.
