The Council of Agriculture's Top 10 Travel Souvenirs Unveiled

To promote leisure agriculture and local tourism while encouraging the purchase of high-quality local agricultural souvenirs, the Council of Agriculture has specially announced the Top 10 Travel Souvenirs recommended and voted on by netizens as the year-end and holiday season approaches. The winning list includes, in order, Fei Niu Baked Pudding Gift Box, Xishan Travel Gift Box, Happy Wedding Wine Gift Box, Passionate Kids/Yujing Baked Passion Fruit, Nantou Tea Sutra Gift Box, Eyes of Joy Sweet Combo Gift Box, Rose Puff, Strawberry Honey Delight, Fu Mi Fu Die Good Souvenir, and Vinegar Master Healthy Diary.

Since launching the "Local Souvenir Development Plan" in 2003, the Council of Agriculture has focused on evaluating local agriculture, product palatability, R&D technology, brand stories, and packaging, successfully assisting over 400 products. This year, the initiative has expanded to collaborate across sectors with tourism, including EVA Air’s free independent travel packages and Lion Travel’s high-speed rail leisure itineraries. This allows the public to enjoy the fruits of refined agriculture through souvenirs while experiencing rural leisure.

Cao Shao-hui, Director of the Council of Agriculture’s Guidance Division, stated: “The Council of Agriculture plans to set up souvenir specialty areas at highway rest stops in Xiluo, Nantou, and Guanxi during the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday. Currently, the Qingshui rest stop has begun trial sales in mid-November this year. Additionally, we are working with EVA Air to develop a souvenir catalog brochure, with plans for travelers to enjoy a ‘order on the plane, pick up at the airport’ service next year (2012). We also look forward to setting up souvenir counters at airports in the future, allowing both domestic and international travelers to easily purchase high-quality, locally distinctive souvenirs and savor Taiwan’s authentic flavors!”
