Special Exhibition "Thousand Peaks and Rising Clouds" Showcases the Water-Gold-Nine Region Through an Artist’s Eyes

The Gold Ecological Park Museum is presenting a special exhibition of local artists from the Water-Gold-Nine region from now until January 8 of the 101st year, titled "Thousand Peaks and Rising Clouds—Liao Xueyu Ink Painting Exhibition," showcasing 18 ink paintings by local creator Liao Xueyu. Liao Xueyu’s ink painting style is filled with a profound sensitivity to the natural sky, perfectly mirroring the misty ambiance of the mountain city of Water-Gold-Nine this season.

Liao Xueyu, originally from Taichung, was born into a simple farming family, and her upbringing fostered her innate connection to mountains, water, and nature. After studying abroad in the UK, volunteering internationally with Bellini, and traveling through India, she chose to settle in the mountain city of Jiufen over a decade ago. By chance, she began studying calligraphy and painting under artist Li Xiaokun. The 18 paintings displayed in this exhibition reflect Liao Xueyu’s state of mind towards the natural scenery of the Water-Gold-Nine mountain city over the past three years, rich in Zen inspiration.

The Gold Ecological Park Museum holds solo exhibitions for local artists from the Water-Gold-Nine region every year. This "Thousand Peaks and Rising Clouds—Liao Xueyu Ink Painting Exhibition" marks Liao Xueyu’s first solo show. Through her works such as "A Corner of Jiufen," "Homeward Journey," and "Listening to the Spring Under the Pines," 18 ink creations in total, viewers can appreciate the beauty of the mountain city as seen through the artist’s eyes.
