A different kind of New Year holiday～Travel to Guam and learn English through themed courses

Taking advantage of this year’s Lunar New Year holiday for the Chinese community, SAINT PAUL CHRISTIAN SCHOOL in Guam has specially launched the “2012 Guam English Study Tour,” a 15-day program (January 24 – February 7, 2012). Led throughout by school teachers, the itinerary includes theme-based courses in academics, nature, sports, music, culture, as well as local sightseeing. Students from elementary school to university are welcome to apply.

Xiang Lilun, a project officer at Kanglin International Group, said that unlike regular summer camps usually held at resorts or clubs, this study tour is a cultural exchange program organized by a U.S. Department of Education-accredited school in collaboration with the Guam Visitors Bureau. All related courses are conducted entirely on campus, with classes divided by age and taught in small groups of 10–20 students. Taiwanese students will have the opportunity to interact with international peers from Korea, Japan, China, Europe, and America, helping to develop a global perspective. Upon completion, in addition to receiving an English course completion certificate, participants will also be awarded a sports (or music) learning certificate, giving them a competitive edge with dual credentials for the future.

During winter and summer vacations, flights to Guam are often hard to come by. The “2012 Guam English Study Tour” offers students a chance to enjoy a fulfilling and unique New Year holiday.
