After the 921 Earthquake, due to crustal displacement, three different types of spring water—sodium bicarbonate, iron spring, and salt spring—gushed out from the banks of the Liling River. Geomancers view the earthquake as the “camel rising,” with the springs being a gift from the earth, and the camel symbolizing the carrying of gifts, ready to rise and move forward.
