Heyi, Luye — Oh Yeah Christmas Party kicks off tonight!

Known for its horse farms, Taichung’s Luye Township is also joining in the Christmas cheer this year. The “Luye Oh Yeah Christmas Party” starts at 7:00 PM tonight (12/23) at the Luye Cheng’an Temple Plaza (next to the Luye District Office). Santa’s usual reindeer will be swapped out for majestic horses, and Taichung Mayor Hu Zhiqiang will arrive in a horse-drawn carriage. The public can also enjoy free rides on the coolest new Christmas supercar horses!

Surrounded by an array of floral displays, the event will feature performances by a Gaojia opera troupe, clown acts from the Cirque du Soleil, as well as instrumental music played by local wind instrument masters. The Christmas theme songs include “O Holy Night” and “Beautiful Small Town.” White wine and snacks will also be served.

Additionally, a limited-edition cultural and creative product — the “O Holy Night Centennial Memorial Music Box” — will be launched. Upon opening, it plays these two Christmas melodies, and the music box’s diorama features Luye’s four treasures: “saxophone,” “majestic horses,” “Christmas flowers,” and “wine cellars,” along with Christmas motifs, offering strong local character and commemorative value. There will also be a prize quiz on-site.

The entire event is expected to run until 9:00 PM. Friends looking to celebrate Christmas early, be sure to come early and make the most of the opportunity.
