Kaohsiung Travel Experts Unveiled: Qijin and Meinong Among Bloggers’ Favorites

The list of winners for the “Go High Kaohsiung Players ‘Grid’ Battle – Kaohsiung Travel Expert Public Selection Event,” organized by the Kaohsiung City Government Tourism Bureau, has been announced. After a five-day, four-night trip to Kaohsiung, the 23 travel bloggers who passed the preliminary selection were evaluated based on their travel records, and eight distinctive winners were selected. The top winners are Lin Pei-yao, Chen Junnan, and Xu Honghui, with the remaining five receiving honorable mentions. Among the over 350 articles submitted by participants, the four most popular attractions were Pier-2 Art Center, E-Da World, Meinong, and Qijin. These spots showcase Kaohsiung’s artistic culture, ethnic diversity, harbor charm, and shopping and leisure experiences, and have become a travel guide for those visiting the city.

The selection event was divided into three categories: Expert Showdown, Family Fun, and Passionate Battle. The 23 finalists were each required to provide more than 15 travel records about Kaohsiung, from which the final eight winners were chosen. Each category winner received a prize of NT$60,000, while honorable mentions received NT$30,000. The winners came from all over Taiwan. For example, Chen Junnan, the family fun category winner from Caotun Township, Nantou County, runs the blog “Holiday Farmers’ Life Chronicles,” which has over 320,000 views. His travel plan started from the suburban areas of Greater Kaohsiung such as Liouguei, Baolai, and Jiaxian, and extended to the city center. Xu Honghui, the passionate battle category winner, took the opportunity to explore all corners of Greater Kaohsiung through this competition, gaining an in-depth understanding of the city and falling in love with the hospitality of its locals.

Over the course of nearly a month, participants in this event explored the tourist attractions of Greater Kaohsiung, uncovering many lesser-known spots. These online articles not only introduced the city’s must-see sights but also became an excellent source of information for travelers.
