The new full-frame king has arrived—Nikon’s flagship D4 makes its debut
The highly anticipated flagship DSLR from Nikon, the D4, has finally made its appearance Up！What are the exciting new features that photography enthusiasts care most about? The D4 is equipped with a brand-new Nikon FX-format CMOS image sensor (image size 36.0 x 23.9 mm), as well as the latest EXPEED 3 image-processing engine optimized for digital SLR cameras. With an effective pixel count of 16.2 million and ISO sensitivity support ranging from ISO 50 to ISO 204800, its extraordinarily wide sensitivity range delivers outstanding image quality under various lighting conditions, achieving unparalleled peak performance.

The Nikon D4 comes with a new 9.1-megapixel RGB sensor and supports an advanced Scene Recognition System, allowing users accustomed to optical viewfinders to also detect faces through the viewfinder. The improved Scene Recognition System enhances the precision of autofocus, auto exposure, i-TTL flash control, and auto white balance (AWB) control.
Additionally, the autofocus system, which features 51 focus points, has undergone multiple improvements, enabling faster autofocus startup and better detection and focusing on subjects even in low-light conditions. When using lenses with a maximum aperture of f/8, 11 focus points can still be used for autofocus. For video shooting, the multi-area mode Full HD D-movie function allows shooting Full HD videos at 30 frames per second and offers three video recording formats for different shooting conditions or creative ideas.

In terms of storage, the Nikon D4 includes a built-in high-speed CF memory card compatible with UDMA 7, as well as support for the new generation of high-speed XQD memory cards, enabling faster image storage. Additionally, it features a built-in wired LAN function. When connected to the new miniature wireless transmitter WT-5, it allows high-speed image transfer via wireless LAN, making it convenient for users to upload image files quickly and shoot more efficiently.
