The internationally renowned financial media outlet International Business Times (IBTimes) announced on January 18, 2012, the “2011 Global Fastest-Growing 1,000 Companies,” with China Airways ranking 707th—the only airline from the Asia-Pacific region to be selected. This survey list targeted publicly listed companies worldwide, evaluating their revenue performance over the past three years to calculate the compound annual growth rate (CAGR), and selected the 1,000 fastest-growing companies globally. In this list, a total of 152 Taiwanese companies were included.

In the first three quarters of 2011, China Airways reported revenue of NT$6.531 billion, a 4.5% increase compared to the same period last year. The pre-tax profit margin for the first three quarters reached 9.64%, with cumulative earnings per share (EPS) after tax amounting to NT$1.31. Under the leadership of Chairman Lin Mingzhi, the company has also shown the public a brand-new and momentum-filled China Airways: in May, it celebrated its 60th anniversary and continued to push forward with plans to purchase new aircraft; in June, it launched the Taipei–Singapore route, declaring its ambitious goal of “flying to all major Asian cities within five years,” officially kicking off its Asian expansion strategy; starting in August, it successively launched multiple cross-strait and international routes, including Taoyuan–Wuxi, Taoyuan–Xuzhou, Kaohsiung–Hefei, Kaohsiung–Nanning, and Kaohsiung–Hanoi, further strengthening its flight network; in September, it was awarded first place in the “International Airlines” category of the CommonWealth Magazine’s “Outstanding Service Awards,” once again affirming its long-standing belief in “safety first, service foremost”; in November, it officially went public, playing a pivotal role in Taiwan’s aviation industry and marking the official entry of the Taiwanese aviation market into a tripartite competition among national carriers. China Airways Chairman Lin Mingzhi was also recently selected as one of “CommonWealth Magazine’s 2011 Financial and Economic Figures” and “Manager Today Magazine’s 2011 Top 100 MVP Managers,” with his management achievements earning widespread recognition.

Lin Mingzhi stated that 2012 will continue to be a challenging and crucial year for China Airways. The airline will align with the government’s open skies policy and actively seek to launch additional routes in Northeast Asia. As the airline’s strength lies in Asian routes—which are also its key advantage—it will fully focus on expanding its network in East Asia, viewing this as a major goal for 2012. Looking ahead, China Airways will maintain steady operations, continue its strategic layout in Asia, and provide every passenger who chooses the airline with safe, reassuring, and satisfying flight experiences.
