Six world champions to compete in F1 Championship, kicking off on March 25

The 2012 FIA Formula One World Championship is set to kick off on March 25 this year. With former world champion Kimi Raikkonen returning to the F1 grid, there will be six F1 world champions competing on the same track this year, including Kimi Raikkonen (Finland), Michael Schumacher (Germany), Sebastian Vettel (Germany), Lewis Hamilton (UK), Jenson Button (UK), and Fernando Alonso (Spain)—a rare spectacle since the F1 championship began in 1950.

Seven-time F1 world champion Michael Schumacher once praised the Sepang Circuit in Malaysia, saying, "Sepang is absolutely fantastic!" The Sepang International Circuit was completed in 1998 and designed by renowned German architect Hermann Tilke. The circuit design takes both drivers and spectators into consideration, and the main grandstand features a banana leaf-shaped roof reminiscent of a space shuttle. Tilke said, "Spectators here can make eye contact with the drivers!" The banana-shaped canopy acts like a large reflective wave deflector—when F1 cars zoom by at high speed, sound exceeding 130 decibels reflects off the roof back to the audience, delivering an unmatched level of high-frequency sonic booms. Another highlight of the Sepang Circuit is the famous straight known as the Mall Area, where F1 cars push their engines to the limit along two symmetrical straights stretching 800 meters, reaching speeds of up to 320 km/h. Being there, you can feel your blood boil involuntarily.

In addition, from March 10 to April 15, the Malaysia GP Shopping Festival will take place. Malls and department stores in the Klang Valley are offering numerous discounts and promotions, and Penang is also enthusiastically joining this annual event.
