High-speed rail tickets for the Qingming holiday go on presale starting 3/3

During the 2012 Qingming Festival, Taiwan High Speed Rail offered additional services to accommodate travelers taking advantage of weekends and the holiday for homecoming, tomb-sweeping, and tourism. From March 30 to April 5 during the transport peak period, THSR added a total of 25 southbound and northbound trains, with presales starting March 3. Passengers who book 15 days (inclusive) before their departure date may be eligible for an early-bird 30% discount; those booking 8 days (inclusive) in advance may get a 10% discount. Quantities are limited, so the earlier you book, the better your chances.

Starting March 3 (Saturday), passengers can use the 24-hour “THSR T Express” mobile app for quick ticket booking, as well as convenience store ticketing points, the online booking system, the voice reservation system, or visit any THSR station during operating hours to purchase tickets at the ticket windows or self-service kiosks. Round-trip tickets between March 30 and April 5 can be reserved in one go.

THSR also reminds the public that during the transport peak period, non-reserved seating will continue to be available. Passengers holding periodical tickets, round-trip tickets, or EasyCard-linked cards can directly tap in and ride non-reserved seats on any train service. However, this does not apply to the limited business-class upgrade promotions offered by THSR and its partner issuing banks and companies, nor does it apply to university student discounts or the “Weekday Designated Train Group Ticket Discount (30+ people)” program.

Passengers who have booked and paid via the 24-hour online or voice reservation systems can collect their tickets at station self-service kiosks before departure, or at the “Reserved/Paid Ticket Collection Window” to save time in queue.
