2012 Okinawa International Asia Music Festival opens on March 16

The 2012 Okinawa International Asia Music Festival (Okinawa International Asia Music Festival) will open on March 16 and last for three days until March 18. During this time, a total of 150 artists from Japan, Taiwan, Canada, and other regions will perform in Okinawa City, Naha City, and Chatan Town, combining local traditional folk music, rock, pop, dance, drumming, as well as the marching band from Haebaru High School... to present diverse performances.
The first Okinawa International Asia Music Festival was held in March 2010. Last year, the event was suspended due to the Great East Japan Earthquake, but it has returned this year with great anticipation. The festival includes free outdoor performances at the Music Town Plaza and Koza Gate Street in Okinawa City, as well as ticketed indoor shows. Many of the participating artists are underground bands and independent musicians, including Diamantes (Japan), former Chitose (Japan), HOPPINK (Taiwan), Heyley Sales (Canada), Suming (Shumiyan / Taiwan)...

It takes about 75 minutes to fly from Taiwan to Okinawa. Independent travelers can take the Yui-Rail monorail from Naha Airport to various parts of the city. Near “w^??拧闭靖浇? (likely a placeholder or unreadable location), there are bus stops and car rental services, making it convenient to explore the main tourist spots. If you're traveling by car, it's also very convenient—just get your international driver’s license, Taiwan compatriot permit, or ROC ID, and pick up your ROC-issued driving permit. In addition, car rental companies also offer shuttle bus services.
