Let Your Dreams Soar – Taitung Hot Air Balloon Carnival Seeks Creative Logo

In 2011, Taitung County Government hosted the “Taiwan Hot Air Balloon Carnival” for the first time, inviting 17 hot air balloons from 7 countries and approximately 40 international experts in hot air balloons and related airspace fields. The two-month event attracted a total of 350,000 visitors and generated over NT$500 million in economic impact. This year, Taitung County will continue to hold the Hot Air Balloon Carnival and has launched the “2012 Taiwan Hot Air Balloon Carnival” logo design competition starting today, with the registration deadline set for March 30. The first prize winner will receive a cash award of NT$60,000.

To establish the “hot air balloon” as a new iconic image for Taitung County, the Taitung County Government will once again hold the Hot Air Balloon Carnival this year and has organized a logo design contest. It aims to build Taitung’s brand image as the capital of hot air balloons in Taiwan through creative designs, which will be used for future promotional activities, publications, and campaigns.

The logo design competition entries will be accepted from now until March 30 (Friday). Following that, a public voting session via Facebook “likes” will be held, and the voting results will be incorporated into the second round of judging scores. Ultimately, one first prize, two runner-up prizes, and three honorable mentions will be selected. The first prize carries a cash award of NT$60,000, with the total prize pool reaching NT$100,000.
