The 325 Art Festival Kicks Off in Grand Style Across Three Museums

The spring arts and culture extravaganza "325 Art Festival" will make its elegant debut this Sunday (the 25th). The National Palace Museum (Taipei Fine Arts Museum), National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts, and Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts are all rolling out related activities. These include free admission, creative markets, cross-disciplinary performances, shopping promotions and more, aiming to plant the seeds of art and cultural creativity across Taiwan.

On March 25, all exhibitions at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum will be open to the public for free all day. These include the first-floor exhibit "Contemporary Taiwan: Playing with the Past to Allude to the Present", the second-floor exhibit "Traversing Jiangnan—Chen Cheng-po’s Artistic Journey", the third-floor exhibits "Tiny Perspectives—Dot. Dot. Dot", "Chen Shiming → Exploring Context", and "Huang Ming-chang: A Plot of the Heart". In addition, from now until March 31, the museum’s basement “Art Bookstore” will offer a 10% discount on all books and up to 50% off on selected items (excluding already discounted products), allowing the public to bring home their favorite art and cultural goods at more affordable prices.

The National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts in Taichung will kick off its Art Festival activities this (23rd) afternoon at 15:00 with a “Beauty & Makeup Parade”. On the 24th and 25th, it has planned a series of events such as “Arts & Lin Yu-shan” (exhibition opening), “Flowers & Blooming Elegance” (art and creative market), “Painting & Garden of Learning” (hands-on workshops), “Guided & Art Tours” (on-site guided tours), and “Celebration & Joyful Performances” (cross-disciplinary shows), providing the public with a diverse array of artistic experiences.

The Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts will begin its celebration on the 24th with the “Opening of Yuan Chan’s 25-Year Retrospective Exhibition”, alongside the “2012 Visual Arts Market: New Taiwan Night Market Team” event, inviting the public to join in the Art Festival fun. The New Taiwan Night Market Team consists of a marketplace featuring visual art works as well as handmade creative art pieces. On the same day, the museum will also host a “Staple & Crazy Fun” basketball shooting prize game in its North Hall, where visitors can participate by subscribing to or purchasing magazines on-site.
