Located in Liuying District, Tainan City, Deyuanpi Dutch Village now has a newly opened restaurant called “Starry Night Murmurs.” Themed around camping, the restaurant uses various camping items to create a relaxing outdoor atmosphere. Most notably, it incorporates Liuying’s dairy farming industry, featuring a series of milk hotpot products, as well as a variety of light meals, desserts, coffee, and beverages.

The dairy farming industry is a key sector in Liuying District, with over 10,000 dairy cows and milk production accounting for one-sixth of Taiwan’s total. Chen Jixiang, general manager of NanNan Cultural Travel, which took over the management of Deyuanpi Dutch Village last year, said that when planning the direction of the restaurant’s operations, they wanted to promote Liuying’s unique features to the public, with locally produced fresh milk being a major highlight. After multiple discussions with food and beverage consultants, they launched a distinctive milk hotpot that combines local fresh milk with produce from small farms, allowing diners to enjoy the pure, creamy aroma of fresh milk.

The Starry Night Murmurs restaurant’s signature milk hotpot options include plain milk hotpot, cheese milk aroma pot, pink milk hotpot, curry milk hotpot, and miso milk hotpot. To let customers fully experience the presence of fresh milk, the broth is specially served in a tall glass cylinder, allowing diners to pour the milk-based soup into their own small hotpot filled with ingredients. Among them, the uniquely colored pink milk hotpot is made by adding Korean chili paste and chili powder to the milk, resulting in an eye-catching pink hue and mildly spicy flavor that whets the appetite.

In addition to the milk hotpot series, Starry Night Murmurs also offers Japanese-style kelp hotpot, slightly tipsy red wine braised beef, Daddy’s Cheese German Sausage, signature meat sauce, as well as a countryside vegetable curry for vegetarians. During afternoon tea, you can also enjoy desserts such as pancakes, thick-sliced toast, signature maple pudding, and chilled cherry cheesecake.
